Functions

The Youth Institute is a public organization whose main activity is aimed at promoting actions that benefit young people. Among its functions is to promote equal opportunities among young people, encourage the free and effective participation of youth in the political, social, economic, and cultural development of Spain, and promote collaboration with other ministerial departments and public administrations whose activities affect this sector of the population.

Academic Background

Graduated in Food Science and Technology (2016) from the University of Murcia.

Professional Experience

Appointed Director General of the Youth Institute by Royal Decree 1123/2023, of December 12.

Local assistant in her duties as MEP for Sira Rego (April 2022 - November 2023).

Councillor in Murcia (2015-2019), the youngest in the democratic history of the municipality of Murcia and the first of migrant origin.

Vice-president of Political Advocacy of the Spanish Youth Council (September 2020 – October 2022) where she carried out the following tasks: Coordination of CJE’s work for the elaboration of the Youth Strategy 2030 and coordinator in Spain of the EU initiative “European Union Youth Dialogue.”

Head of feminisms, LGTBI, migrations, and disabilities at CJE (2021-2022).

Author of the introduction of the book “Youth Associations in Democratic Spain” by Francisco Manuel Reverte Martínez (2021).

Author of the article “Violence in immigrant women. State of the matter and future proposals” in the edition “Gender violence in youth. The thousand faces of sexist violence in the young population” of INJUVE's Youth Studies Magazine.

Personal Overview

Born in Loja (Ecuador). Ecuadorian migrant born in 1993, she arrived in Murcia in 2003 with her younger brother to reunite with their mother.
